We are pleased to inform you that you have been admitted to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Surprised? Don't be! Your trip to Tokyo has just gotten more magical. Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo opened earlier this month in Tokyo. In this feature, we introduce this amazing new attraction by guiding you through life at Hogwarts as if you were a freshman.
Your admission letter may appear anywhere
Admission letters may be delivered in unexpected places or sometimes arrive late. Make sure to pay attention to the gaps in windows, doors, gas stoves, chimneys and other parts of your home. Search carefully so that there is no delay in starting school.
You may remember how Harry had trouble with his uncle's family when he received the letter of admission. Controlling emotions and maintaining a harmonious family atmosphere is also something prospective wizards need to practice. No using spells outside the school!
Depart from Platform 9¾
Everyone departs from their respective locations to take the Seibu Toshima Line or Toei Oedo Line up to Toshimaen Station.
Once at the station, look for Platform 9¾, which is between platforms 9 and 10. After successfully entering the platform, you can see the red train and a board on a brick wall with the words "Hogwarts Express."
Step into the train and take a seat as the journey is quite long. In addition to watching the scenery outside the window, you can communicate with other students who are also at Hogwarts. This is where Harry met Hermione and Ron, who became lifelong friends. You might also find your BFF here.
Shop for all that you need at Diagon Alley
The best place to shop for your school supplies, as recommended by Hogwarts, is Diagon Alley. As a freshman, its easy to get lost in the bustling shopping street that is Diagon Alley, the entry to which is through the Leaky Cauldron Bar. Known as the financial hub of the wizarding world, many top brands have flagship stores here. All items that are essential for school such as uniforms, textbooks, wands, owls can be found here.
▽ Eeylops Owl Emporium: You can find a range of owls here, but, of course, the most popular one is Harry Potter's Hedwig.
▽ Ollivanders Wand Shop: It's easy to get overwhelmed by the plethora of wands here, but don't worry, the wand chooses its own master. Just listen and be patient until your wand finds you.
▽ Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes: Owned by the Weasley twins, this store has all kinds of magic tricks, toys, and equipment for pranks. It is the most popular place for young wizards to explore the world of magic.
The Sorting Ceremony
Once you have all your supplies, you are ready for school. The Sorting Ceremony is the first order of business. All students are expected to be at the Great Hall in the evening on the day they arrive at Hogwarts. The ceremony consists of three parts: the sorting ceremony, the principal's speech, and a dinner. The Sorting Hat assigns each new student to one of the four Houses.
Teachers at Hogwarts
Classes begin straightaway. Schedules are distributed at breakfast. In the Great Hall, you will see an area displaying vials with potions and other apparatus.
You will also be greeted by the best teachers of wizardry at Hogwarts: Hagrid, the carer of magical creatures; Snape, who teaches about potions and defence against the dark arts; McGonagall, who teaches transfiguration; Trelawney, the divination teacher and more.
Interactive learning
Teaching with fun is the teaching philosophy that has always been followed at Hogwarts. There are many facilities that combine entertainment with education.
1. Common rooms
The common rooms of each house have their own access codes, which will be provided to you by your seniors. If you're in the same house as Harry Potter, then you can enter the Gryffindor common room through the Fat Lady's portrait! Go on try and be on the moving wall.
2. Magic practice
The Forbidden Forest is not for the fainthearted. A chance to experience the glory of magical creatures like Aragog and Buckbeak.
3. Quidditch
The most popular activity at Hogwarts is the sport of Quidditch. Players are chosen at the start of the year during the Quidditch Tryouts.
Memorabilia
Everyone who joins Hogwarts is well aware of the legacy of Harry Potter. To ensure you can focus on your magical education, there is plenty of paraphernalia that commemorates the time Harry was at Hogwarts. Look for your favorite goods to decorate your room for an even better year.
Places to enjoy a meal
In addition to the cafeteria, there are other options for students to fill their bellies and get nourishment.
You can enjoy a chilled, frothy glass of Butterbeer at the Three Broomsticks, a rustic tavern. Since Butterbeer is non-alcoholic, you can completely relax and savor the drink without worrying about getting drunk 🍺
