The first of its kind - MORI Building DIGITAL ART MUSEUM: teamLab Borderless

Opening on June 21 in Odaiba, Tokyo, true to its name, this digital art museum has no borders. Interactive artworks seamlessly connect through the vast 10,000 sqm area divided into five zones. Fully immersive, each of the 50 artworks have been thought out carefully keeping in tune with seasons and Japanese aesthetic. These artworks are created by a complicated network of 470 high-tech projectors and 520 computers. Not all of the 50 exhibits have been opened yet and they will be added over time. Highlighting some of our favorites to stir your imagination! Borderless World As soon as you enter the first area, you are surrounded by a riot of color. Each wall projecting elements of nature from sunflowers to foliage. The mirrored walls make you feel like you're in a maze.
As you follow the path, you find yourself standing under a waterfall. You can climb on the rock formation and merge into this fairytale-like landscape. Considering the love Japanese have for following directions, this exhibition is a breakaway from enforced rules and encourages the viewer to wander aimlessly.
You can sit anywhere and even lie down. The concept of time and space blurs as you relax and let your body form connections with these surroundings.
One of the most impressive areas is called The Way of the Sea through the Memory of Topography - Colors of Life.
Follow a path marked by circles and wander through projections that are reproductions of natural phenomena: from fluttering fireflies to swishing grass.
Forest of Resonating Lamps When you stand still close to a lamp, it emits a bright light transmitting the color of the adjacent lamps creating a symphony of light.
Mirrors on each wall create a sense of infinity and timelessness. The Murano glass for each lamp is handmade. The color scheme changes from warm to cool at regular intervals and this experience will leave you in a beautiful trance.

Sketch Aquarium This is going to be hit among kids. An exhibit that changes as viewers participate in creating their own artworks.
Color and jazz up a black and white printout of a sea creature, get it scanned and see it floating around the room. Each time you touch a creature, it escapes!
teamLab Athletics Forest Slide through fruit fields triggering fireworks, bounce on the "Multi Jumping Universe" and feel like you're going to be sucked into space or enjoy aerial climbing as you see birds soaring around you.
These 3D exhibits encourage the viewer to interact enhancing spatial awareness resulting in physically creative experiences.
EN Tea House Order a cup of tea and immerse yourself in a universe created in the cup. As soon as your tea is poured, you will see flowers blooming on the surface.
When you move the cup, the flowers wither and petals float all around the table.
Each drink costs about 500 yen. Things to know: 1. Wear comfortable flat shoes or sneakers. Anyone wearing heels, sandals, wooden clogs, etc. won't be allowed to enter the Athletic area. You can rent sneakers on the 4th floor if you wish to enter this area. 2. Most of the areas are dark and the floor is uneven in many parts. Please walk carefully. 3. Using tripods, monopods, selfie sticks, etc. is prohibited. 4. Store away any large baggage in lockers.
