This pandemic has prevented many from traveling abroad. While some miss visiting historic places, many of you must miss trying local delicacies from different countries. Japan is famous for a range of delicious traditional food but in this feature, we talk about the much-loved instant noodles from different parts of Japan. You might find these in your local Japanese food store.

 

 

Akashi Nori Ramen from Hyogo Prefecture

Hyogo Prefecture is famous for its seaweed which is produced in the Akashi Strait. The seaweed is savory and has a deep umami flavor.

 

 

This Akashi seaweed instant noodle has a good balance of saltiness that comes from seaweed and soy sauce.

 

 

Hakata Ramen from Fukuoka Prefecture

The aroma of the Hinai Chicken instant noodles below is almost on par with the ramen noodles sold in Akita Prefecture, and you will definitely love eating these light noodles.

 

 

Iburigakko Ramen Akita Prefecture is famous for its local pickled vegetable called Iburigakko (いぶりがっこ). Iburigakko is smoked pickled daikon and is usually served as pickles on the side. These instant noodles are seasoned with soy sauce and Iburigakko, which gives it a savory taste and a sweet aroma.

 

 

Setouchi Shio Lemon Ramen

The climate of the Setouchi region is perfect for growing lemons, and nearly all of Japan's lemons are produced here. This area is also famous for its delicious lemon flavored snacks.

Sapporo Sumire Miso Ramen Opened in 1964, Sumire is the originator of the miso ramen trend in Hokkaido. The noodles used in this instant noodle are special noodles made with Sumire's special recipe. You will definitely be more interested in visiting Hokkaido after trying this ramen.
