Enjoy experiences you've never had before at a novel tourist attraction in Tokyo!

There is an amazing spot in Tokyo, not yet widely known to tourists, that is just a 30-minute train ride from Shinjuku. This spot attracts a lot of people on weekends, including couples and families, but they are mostly local Japanese with just a few foreign visitors. So it's one of those amazing spots that is still unknown to many foreigners!
We are talking about the Tokyo Racecourse in Fuchu, Tokyo! The word “racecourse” may remind some people of gambling, but we assure you that this place will totally betray that image. Almost like an amusement park, you will see various kinds of playground equipment, a miniature bullet train, and children playing with big jolly smiles. In this feature, we introduce the Tokyo Racecourse and its many fun-filled attractions! https://bit.ly/2W0xml9

Many attractions for families!

The first place we introduce is the area around the east gate. This area is mainly enjoyed by families. There are various kinds of playground equipment in Hiyoshigaoka Park that are extremely popular among kids. The pirate ship, Derby, gets the most attention as it has an imposing presence. Many children splash about in the water at the fountain facility called “Basha Basha Park” on hot days.
There are many more facilities that can be enjoyed by families. If you go through the passageway under the race track, you will reach inside the racecourse, which is a paradise for children! There is an adventure playground named JRA-DOME, an inflatable balloon dome called Balloon Turfy, and a miniature bullet train that runs around the family zone.

Interaction with cute horses!

This is just the tip of the iceberg! There are still many more attractions to enjoy at the Tokyo Racecourse. This is a racecourse, so guess what? You can actually interact with horses! You can pet some horses in the stables and feel their warmth…
Not just that, you can even ride on a horse! Experience how jockeys' feel when they mount a horse. The movements of the horse will give you an idea of what jockeys feel. (Numbered ticket needed)
Feel like royalty as you can even sit in a traditional horse carriage and enjoy a ride along the Keyaki-namiki. (Numbered ticket needed)

Great lineup of delicious food!

Another thing that the Tokyo Racecourse prides on is its vast selection of food! There are more than 100 places, including restaurants, a food court and stalls, that serve an astonishingly wide variety of delicious food. Many restaurants offer take out as well. On sunny days, nothing better than enjoying a bite on the grass lawn under the sun!

Enjoy watching the spectacular race up-close!

If you visit the Tokyo Racecourse, you can't miss watching the spectacular races! The beautifully well-trimmed turf course is gigantic and overwhelming to say the least. Imagine horses running around the course at top speed and the thunderous roar of the cheering crowds! The intense energy is something you should definitely experience.

Japan Cup: one of the best races in the world

Japan Cup is held once a year at the Tokyo Racecourse. The highest-level horses from all over the world and the best Japanese thoroughbreds go head-to-head at this famous international race! Spectators enjoy watching the horses engage in a fierce competition every year!

On November 24, the day of the Japan Cup, some special events are held to commemorate the race. This year, novelty goods will be presented only to foreign visitors. Further, visitors who participate and complete the stamp rally will be given a 1000 yen discount ticket that can be used at the eateries at the Racecourse or special novelty goods!
