The best way to enjoy the great food in Enoshima is ordering food to go and trying various snacks. There are shops that line the street where you can try a wide range of delicious food. Above all, the famous Maruyaki Tako Senbei (octopus cracker) at Asahi Honten is very popular. It is a striking cracker which is made from a couple of octopi pressed thinly and baked. Shirasu bread, shirasu manju (dumpling) and wafer ice cream sandwiches are very popular as well.

Enoshima Escar is an easy way to go up to the top of Enoshima. If you climb up the 254-step stairway, it would take 20 minutes. However with the Escar, it takes just four minutes! Plus you will get a nice view while ascending. By the way, Escar is not a type of vehicle, it's an escalator. The fares are 360 yen for adults and 180 yen for children (varies depending on sections).

As a symbol of Enoshima, this shrine watches over the safety of the ocean. The tori (gate) at the entrance is imposing and impressive. This shrine is especially popular with female worshipers for matchmaking. You don't want to miss the mysterious cave called Iwaya which is located in the rear of the shrine.

This is a power spot for love and relationships offering a great view. The bell is situated in Tatsunogaoka Shizen no Mori (forest) that lies in front of Enoshima Jinja Okutsumiya. The legend says that eternal love is promised when a couple ring the bell and then put a padlock (sold on location) with their names on it on the fence. If you are a couple, it is worth visiting! (You can borrow a pen from the souvenir shop.)

There is a lighthouse observation tower called Enoshima Sea Candle on the island. The tower provides a stunning view from the glassed observation floor. When the weather permits, you can look over Izu Peninsula and Mt. Fuji. The sunset of Enoshima from the Sea Candle is breathtaking. (Adults-500 yen, children-250 yen)
