The Kyu-Furukawa Gardens are known for its rose garden and attract a lot of visitors during the Spring Rose Festival every year around mid-May to mid-June, depending on when the roses bloom. The sight of the approximately 180 rose plants of 90 species is a must-see! At night, the flowers are elegantly lit up.

The main building, where guided tours are available, was designed by British architect Josiah Conder, who is also known for the designs of the Rokumeikan and Kyu-Iwasaki-tei Garden through the Meiji and Taisho eras. Cake and tea can be ordered in the salon in this western-style building.
