Corner Where You Can Feel the World of Drift Ice with Your Body
In the Ryuhyo Taikan-shitsu (Feel-the-drift-ice room) in the museum, you can touch real drift ice and can see an almost real-looking aurora. The room is kept 15℃ below zero; you can take part in "Shibare Experience (freezing experience)" and see how your wet towel freezes.

Ryuhyo Genso Theater (drift ice fantasy theater) in the museum will show you images on five screens of the Okhotsk Sea with drift ice, the spreading sky over the sea, and living creatures in there, and you can feel as if you were there on the Okhotsk Sea.

Watching Creatures in Okhotsk Sea
They have the rearing exhibit of cute creatures like clione and lumpfish that live in the sea with drift ice like Okhotsk Sea. The clione, the angel of drift ice or the sea angels, usually can be seen in the season of drift ice, but you can see them up close here throughout the year.

Observatory to Overlook the Okhotsk Sea
Okhotsk Ryuhyo Museum's rooftop is an observatory deck "Feel-the-Wind Observation Roof Gallery." You can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the Okhotsk Sea. Further, no matter when you visit, it has seasonal beauty: cherry blossoms in spring, lush green in summer, autumnal coloration in fall, and snow scenes in winter, which are collaborated with the Okhotsk Sea creating incredible views.

Only from late January to mid-March, you can enjoy "Drift Ice View Slide." You can enjoy winter activities of snowy Hokkaido, such as a bobsleigh and an ice slide. Feel the bountiful nature of Okhotsk.
