Shukugawa Park (Shukugawa River Greenbelt)

Shukugawa River runs through the city of Nishinomiya for 4 km from north to south. There are 1,600 cherry trees along the river. This park is selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Viewing Sites. It is known as a prominent cherry viewing site in the Kansai area, and draws many visitors during this season. The image of the blossoms on both sides of the river reflected on the river surface makes for a stunning spectacle. The view of falling cherry blossom petals is beautiful as well as that of full bloom. The petals fall and float down on the river ever so gently. Just watching it will make you feel peaceful.

Reflections of Cherry Blossom on the River Surface

The most attractive feature of Shukugawa Park is the reflections of the cherry blossoms on the surface of the river. The clear water beautifully reflects the picturesque blossoms. This spot is noted for its superb view of the reflections of cascading blossoms. The clear water running from Mount Rokko helps create this majestic atmosphere.
